Shirodhara

Lying on your back, you are supported in a cocoon of comfort on a massage table. An application of warm oil gently cascades and flows over your forehead gracing your 6th chakra or intuitive center with a stream of specially formulated oils and herbs.

At this time you are invited to “think happy thoughts” to lull you further into this restorative process. You are in collaboration with your practitioner as you journey into the world of Shirodhara together.

This state supports the innate wisdom within you. As the flow of oil is completed you remain quiet in the experience. Upon awakening, take time to be still, breath and enjoy.

Know that you are safe and supported during this process.

The practitioner remains with you at all times.

A session lasts anywhere from one to two hours.

It is highly suggested to have a light day/night after your treatment.

As your Shirodhara session is completed your hair and scalp are lubricated with oil. Please bring an old towel to wrap your hair in upon leaving.

Keeping your head warm is very important.

If you are able to leave the oils in your hair for a few hours or, overnight, GREAT.

When you are ready to wash your hair use dish detergent before wetting your hair.

This pulls the oil from the hair follicles with ease.

Proceed with normal shampooing.

Your hair will look and feel fantastic which is an added bonus!

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” Marianne Williamson
